Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use: Understand how to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively for adults, including pad placement, device operation, and delivering a shock when indicated for sudden cardiac arrest. Recognition of Cardiac Arrest: Develop proficiency in recognizing signs of cardiac arrest in adults, including unresponsiveness, absence of breathing or abnormal breathing, and the absence of a pulse. Hands-On Practice: Engage in practical, hands-on skills practice sessions using adult manikins and AED training devices to reinforce adult CPR and AED techniques and build confidence in responding to real-life emergencies. Scenario-Based Learning: Participate in scenario-based learning activities and simulations to apply knowledge and skills learned in the course to realistic emergency situations involving adults, enhancing decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
