Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use: Understand how to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively for adults, including pad placement, device operation, and delivering a shock when indicated for sudden cardiac arrest. Recognition and Response to Medical Emergencies: Develop proficiency in recognizing and responding to common medical emergencies in adults, including choking, respiratory distress, heart attack, stroke, and allergic reactions. Hands-On Practice: Engage in practical, hands-on skills practice sessions using adult manikins, first aid supplies, and AED training devices to reinforce first aid, CPR, and AED techniques and build confidence in responding to real-life emergencies. Scenario-Based Learning: Participate in scenario-based learning activities and simulations to apply knowledge and skills learned in the course to realistic emergency situations involving adults, enhancing decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
